Look around you; have you seen someone without a cell phone? These days cell phones have more features other than texting or calling. They now have touch screens and cool tools. Some phones, such as the iPhone, can tell you the weather, stock prices, where you are at, and it is even voice activated! Today s cell phone is cutting-edge technology at your fingertips. With this being said, should students be allowed to have or use cell phones in school? I think that not only students should be allowed to use them, but required to use them. First of all, students may use cellphones to contact family and friends. A student can call home and ask a parent or other family member to bring him or her some thing they have forgotten. Often, students forget to bring their homework. So, if the student has a cellphone, they can call their parents and ask them to bring it to school for them. Sometimes, children get sick during school. The student can then call their parent and ask them to take them home. Parents can also track their children s location using their cellphones GPS system. Most cell phones today have a built-in GPS chip to allow their location to be found at any time. So, parents can make sure their children are at school and aren t ditching.
